the rules of this forum are all pretty simple and standard. follow them, and we will all have a great, easy time. if you have any questions about the rules, please feel free to ask an administrator. and don't worry, there isn't any secret code in here. but still, we do ask that you read the rules anyway.

REGISTERING:

[/size] first of all, welcome to tea cups. in order to get started, you need to register with us. before submitting your application, please make sure your display name is in all capital letters with FIRSTNAME LASTNAME. no middle names, please. you must do this before your application will be accepted. keep in mind that we are also a one character per account forum.

we do have a site application, so please make sure to use that application and no others. you are more than welcome to write the application in either third or first person. the application shouldn't be too long, but if you're having major problems with completing it, then this forum may not be right for you. when creating your application, please make the subject title LASTNAME, FIRSTNAME. no middle names, please. also, if your application is not completed, include [WP] or something similar in the title.

CHARACTERS:[/size] there is no character limit on this forum. however, we do ask that for every two females you create, you make one male. the same goes for males: for every two males you make, make one female. if you have a serious problem with this, please private message an administrator before creating your third character. you are expected to remain active on all character accounts, and we therefore recommend waiting a week or so between each character creation. however, this is just a recommendation. also, there is no canon-ban. just please be fair and let others have canons as well. we will not allow one person to create more than one main character however.

we hate mary and gary sues. please don't create them. in terms of play bys, identical twins are the only characters who may have the same play by. if you are using myspace models, make sure that they are okay with their pictures being posted in random places. be sure to claim or reserve your face claim as soon as possible - they usually go pretty quickly. also, on this forum many characters may be a bit quirky or insane. we realize how difficult it may be to find the right picture for a crazy person. we won't be very picky about playbys on this site in regards to that, however if your character is crazy but looks normal all the time to attract the opposite gender, we'll have a problem.

ROLEPLAYING:[/size] the most obvious rule: no godmodding. i really hope i don't have to explain what this is. we don't have a minimum word count, however this forum is a literate forum. we expect members to be able to post a couple paragraphs at minimum, but we want it to be a stress free environment. that being said, if you are roleplaying with someone who posted a 1000 word post, please don't reply with only 200 words. be respectful of the effort your roleplaying partner has put forth and try to match their word count as well. starter posts shouldn't be too long or too short - 500-700 words is good.

keep in mind the locations. we allow multiple threads at one time, however we will not allow a character to suddenly go from the woods to the wastelands, and vice versa. you need to have a reason for your travel, as well as a means of travel. the staff at tc hold the right to lock any thread of characters travelling in such manners. if you are unsure, please private message an administrator before making the trip.

ACTIVITY:[/size] please stay active! i know that everyone has lives - so do the staff, believe it or not, but at least try to log in every day (even just logging in), or every other day. if you anticipate on being gone for at least four days, then please post a notice in the absences board or private message an administrator. if you stay inactive for a certain length of time, then your character and play by will be deleted and be up for grabs. this will be especially enforced for canon characters who are needed for the plot. please be active!

RATING:[/size] this forum is rated PG-13. things happen in life, sometimes unexpected and out of our control. we know that and we want to make this as realistic and enjoyable as possible. that being said, while we do accept drugs, violence, and sex in moderation, there is a boundary of 'respectable'. rather than being graphic, the situation can be presumed or approached carefully. teen pregnancy is permitted (although seemingly not needed), however you must private message an administrator first. tea cups does not encourage this kind of behavior in real life.
